About:

I grew up in Southern Oregon, where I spent most of my childhood either on the soccer field, basketball court, volleyball court or on the track. I attended the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) for my undergraduate work, where I received a BS in Sociology and Arizona State University, where I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently an Elementary School teacher, and am very passionate about teaching whether it be in the school classroom or CrossFit gym. I love to coach, compete and and participate in CrossFit as much as possible. We truly have the best members here at SSCF, and getting to spend time with them every single day is a blessing.

How did you get involved with CrossFit?

I got involved with CrossFit in 2011 when I met my now husband, Chris Garceau. During my first class the workout was awful and I remember wondering, “Why in the world would he take me here?” By the time the WOD was (finally) over, I knew I’d be back for more. After just this one class, I could already feel the sense of community associated with CrossFit and loved the challenge along with the feeling of accomplishment afterwards. Three years later, I’m still coming back for more.

Why do you love to coach?

I love coaching because I love to see first-hand how CrossFit is changing lives. It is so rewarding to see, and be a part of, people achieving their fitness goals, whatever they may be. 

CrossFit Movement you secretly dominate:

Hmm.. I don’t know if there’s one movement I secretly “dominate,” however, I sure don’t mind some wall balls or any style of press.

CrossFit Movement that secretly dominates you:

Snatches dominate me pretty darn good!

Favorite Healthy Food/Meal:

My mother-in-law’s plantain lasagna.

Favorite Cheat Food/Meal:

Ice cream and chocolate chip cookies of course!
