About:

An East Coast native, I’ve spent most of my childhood in an ice rink, on a field, on a mountain, or in a river. Athletics and fitness have always played a major role in my upbringing. As a three sport varsity athlete in high school, team competition was an everyday commitment. During my senior year in high school, I was selected to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point and was recruited to play college ice hockey at the NCAA Division I level. I graduated in 2005, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army where I spent the next eight years serving our nation in numerous leadership positions.

During my final year on active duty, I attended a rigorous three week selection for the US Army Special Forces. It was in preparation for this assessment that I found CrossFit. CrossFit has changed my life forever. It has been a road of constant improvement and my only regret about CrossFit is that I didn’t find it sooner. I’m in the best shape of my life and never had more fun working out than I do now. Here at South Seattle CrossFit, we want our members to feel encouraged, supported, and wanted. Our goal is to make working out fun again, and to redefine what’s possible for everyone that steps into our community.

How did you get involved with CrossFit?

On the road to Green Beret selection, I researched the fitness program that was producing this country’s greatest warriors. It was only a matter of time…

Why do you love to coach?

What is the one thing more rewarding than CrossFitting? Coaching CrossFitters. The smiles, the testimonials, the lifestyle changes, and the amazing community of people dedicated to making themselves and everyone around them better people is why I love coaching so much.
